Abstract
Purpose: We investigate posterior capsular opacification type with different optic material of intraocular lens

Methods: 35eyes which underwent Nd-YAG capsulotomy because of posterior capsular opacification, we divide into optic material aclylic and silicone, compared retrospectively the time interval between the development of postrior capsular opacification, total energy used in laser capsulotomy and posterior capsular opacification type. Posterior capsular opacification type classifed fibrosis and pearls.

Results: Posterior capsular opacification type were fibrosis type 13eyes, pearls type 2eyes in acylic, fibrosis type 18 eyes, pearls type 2eyes in silicone. Poser of fibrosis type was 5.98mJ total energy 74.75mJ and pulse 254.86, power of pearls type were 4.00mJ total energy 78.00,J and pulse 373.00 in acylic. Power of fibrosis type were 4.77mJ total energy 183.00mJ and pulse 254.86, Power of pearls type was 4.80mJ total energy 66.57mJ and pulse 637.65 in silicone. The average interval from cataract surgery to Na-YAG capsulotomy of fibrosis type were 38.62months, 21.18 months and pearls type were 25.50months, 8.50months in acylic and silicone.

Conclusions: Posteriror capsular opacification type with different optic material of intraocular lens were no significantly difference.
